Be a noble profession – Nursing is a very good profession to choose from, if you have the traits of compassion for your fellow beings, a desire to help and serve others. As a nurse, you have to work in a variety of settings such as private nursing homes, hospitals and clinics. The working hours differ depending on the setting you are working in.

 

 

The main function of a nurse is to administer medical care to the ill or injured persons. Your duties include recording patients’ vital symptoms, taking blood samples for laboratory tests, changing dressings, starting intravenous fluids and administering medication.

 

 

Eligibility:

  

Diploma In Nursing (3 years and 6 months) : Pass 10+2 with any subject.

 

B.Sc. Nursing (4years) :  Students who have completed their plus two with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 

 

M.Sc. Nursing (2 years) : Pass with 50% B.sc. Nursing or P.C.Bsc. Nursing with 2 years experinece.

 

 Para-medical supports the medical team with closely related functions for complete treatment. The main areas are radiology, physiotherapy, laboratory services cardiology and neurology and job opportunities are plenty in each of these areas.

The employment opportunities in this profession are available in government and private hospitals, nursing homes, sanitariums, clinics, crèches, schools, offices, factories, orphanages, old age homes etc. 

 

 Remuneration in the government hospitals in India varies between Rs. 1600 to Rs. 3500 as basic salary. On the other hand salaries in private hospitals and clinics are much better. Salaries in this profession also depends on the level of seniority and varies from department to department.
